10 Things I Hate about Japan! 🇯🇵
I LOVE Japan! (See my 10 Things I love About Japan for proof) But there are some things about this country that infuriate me and there's other things that just don't make sense, at least to me. I recommend Japan to pretty much anyone BUT if you're not into strict adherence to rules and procedures, you might have some issues!

10 Things I Love About Japan! 🇯🇵

Japan exceeded my expectations in every way so there are many more than 10 things I love about this country but here's a start! I wish the U.S. would adopt some of the same traditions, especially no tipping in restaurants.
Tokyo First Impressions: Maids, Geeks & World's Best Beef Katsu 🇯🇵

Asakusa and Akihabara are two of the most interesting neighborhoods to wander around in in Tokyo, particularly for people-watching! Asakusa, home of Sensoji Temple, founded in 645, is the historic heart of the city, and it's full of kimono-wearing tourists and lots of local color too. Akihabara is sort of the freaks and geeks neighborhood of Tokyo with a crazy number of gaming and anime stores,...
Buddhist Shangri-La with 117 Temples & No McDonald's or Starbucks | Koyasan 🇯🇵

I almost took Koyasan off of our itinerary because it's a bit out of the way and there are NO cheap places to stay there. But I'm glad we went because Koyasan was one of my favorite places in Japan. I hope it remains as unspoiled as it was when we visited in June 2024.

Kamikochi is NOT CHEAP and I almost didn't go because the hotels are pricey but I'm so glad we went! No cars, no McDonald's, no Starbucks or KFC. It's just nature, hiking trails, birds, and of course, other tourists. I'd love to go back for the opening or closing ceremonies some day.

At first, I wasn't sure I wanted to share this vlog because I LOVE Japan and 99.9% of the Japanese people we met in a month traveling around the country were incredibly nice and welcoming. The people we encountered at this restaurant in Shirakawa-go and their "Japanese only" silliness isn't at all indicative of how most Japanese feel about visitors, so please do NOT hesitate to visit Japan. My Top Ten Favorite Kyoto Temples 🇯🇵

Has Overtourism Ruined Kyoto? (Part 2) 🇯🇵

Kyoto has been getting such bad press regarding alleged overtourism. Is it really the crowded hellscape of wall-to-wall tourists they claim it is? This is part two in my series where I reflect the good, the bad and the ugly and let you decide. Here's a link to part 1 of this Kyoto overtourism trilogy. ruclips.net/video/Q1VfYB4RF_o/видео.html
Has Overtourism Ruined Kyoto? (Part 1) 🇯🇵

With all the apocalyptic headlines warning that Kyoto has been completely ruined by overtourism, my expectations were modest before visiting the place. I was prepared for crowds but also did my research to see how crowds can be avoided. Some places, like the Golden Pavilion, keep limited hours (9-5) and are crowded all day long. Others, like Kiyomizu-dera, open at 6 a.m., so if you don't mind g...

I love baseball in the U.S.A. but I have to admit that it's way better in Japan! You can bring your own food and drinks in but there's almost no need to because the price of food and drinks inside is reasonable. The fans are really into the games as you can see in this vlog. So much fun!

This is what happens when industries get shipped over sea to save a few dollars and when democrats are voted in. People who live in the falls keep voting for the same thing over and over. The crime is disgusting, and the drugs are rampant. As for the tourist attractions, that could bring in some money, but plans get laid, someone's pockets get lined, and nothing ever comes to fruition. The political corruption in that city is strong. And about having nothing there for kids, she's right! The winter garden is gone, they don't do the festival of lights like they used to. Pine ave is scary.

Now I see why in 2024, NF lives up to the outside world as "the arm pit of NY State" It absolutely stinks! When they put a casino in there, I knew it was the worst. Outside the Turning Stone Casino near Rome NY. Kind of middle of no where. They only put casinos in an area that no one wants to be, except to lose their shirt, supposedly having fun!

  • @TheAdultContemporaryMusicCh

Also that guy in that shop is on some drug, if he thinks NF ever coming back. If anything I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped below 30,000 by 2030. And all those restaurants also abandoned and locked looking like they are still in business, that's just freaky!

Since the last time I was there to visit, it seems NF is now Detroit, with everything abandoned, condemned churches still standing. Blown out blocks with houses no longer there! Boarded up whole hoods, people are downright nasty, no one except at end of video even wanted to talk or be filmed. I swear NYC street smarts, where I was born. Five people you talked to or tried to, are in organized crime, and didn't want you up in their business. So they backed the f-ck away from you, you made that lady uncomfortable who quickly got in that car.

You have read the border zone signs yourself, but you apparently interpreted them wrongly. That's the Finnish border zone, not the Russian border zone. And you are not standing at the actual state border between Finland and Russia, but merely at the beginning of the Finnish border zone. The Finnish-Russian border is up to 3 km away from there. The poles with yellow rings show where the border zone begins. The actual state border is up to 3 km away from there. It is marked by boundary markers with blue and white stripes on the Finnish side and boundary markers with red and green stripes on the Russian side which are standing opposite each other. The state border runs in the middle between them.

I think your criticism on the NY side of the falls is a bit harsh. I agree that from a view point of view the Canadian side is better. However from an experience point of view the NY side wins hands down. You can do the “Crows Nest” and “Cave of the Winds”. Not to mention, the board walk through the falls is much cheaper better and closer than the Canadian Side. Where the NY side fails is bringing in International Tourists because there is no Int’l Airport nearby; whereas Toronto’s Lester B Pearson is only 45 minutes away through the QEW. I went to the falls 25 years ago and it was a sad sight from the U.S. side. I’m currently here and I do see a major improvement.

Watching this video in Aug 24 , a couple years after it was recorded. I was reading the comments after watching the first time and was surprised at the criticisms of the interviewer . So I listened a second time and this is what I concluded . The interviewer did not interrupt him at all . The gentleman was able to answer ever question he was asked . He was smiling the entire time and even invited the interviewer to go and meet his wife . I think that spoke volumes about how the gentleman felt about how the interview went . Conclusion : There are a lot of antsy ass Karen's who apparently don't understand how to have a conversation with another person . Sign of the internet generation who when you speak to them cast their eyes somewhere else but on the internet they are full of vitriolic opinions . Just wondering .

Yeah, to be fair, it looks like you were visiting the Falls Park off-season. That explains why they didn't have a lot of people walking around. It's always way more foot traffic down there in the warmer months, I'd say between April and August. But honestly, just looking at a lot of the projects that didn't pan out just in my lifetime, they definitely made some stupid choices with Niagara Falls. They canceled the Aqua Falls project decades ago, which was going to be this amazing underground Aquarium. They shut down the Winter Garden, which was a beautiful photo op location. A lot of people I know got married in the old Winter Garden. They had plans to turn it into a butterfly sanctuary, but they dropped that project, too. It's really a mix of bad spending and the high crime that is killing this city. The crime is probably the major problem that needs to be fixed, first. Also, if you would have went to the Hyde Park Blvd. area, they have way better looking neighborhoods with a lot more Italian families. I'm not Italian, but the neighborhood I grew up in was and still is predominantly Italian. Jerauld Avenue has very nice houses and a nice quiet street where we all pretty much knew eachother. Haven't been on the street in about 8 years, but still know most of the people living there. Also, even though it's a small city, people are iffy about being on camera talking to a complete stranger, so a lot of people are likely to walk away from you. In today's world, that should be expected 😂.

@MadTraveler .....it was a backpackers paradise. 😀 I lived on the southside of the beach in front of the taverna. There were only 4 tavernas on the beach at that time, from what I remember. To get to the beach from the village, you had to go down what we called the donkey track - no roads at that time. It was a nudist beach for anyone who had the urge to go naked - most people did. The only exception was not on a Sunday, as that was when Greek families came by boat for a day out. It was all very civilised on a Sunday. I met some amazing people during my time on the beach. It was one of my best times on my travels through Europe. I reluctantly left Corfu for Athens to meet up with some friends who were coming to Greece on holiday. We went to Crete for a couple of weeks until they had to return to work. Crete was okay, but Pelekas was the place. I did go back once for a holiday a few years later, but it had already started to change to what we can see today. Fortunately for me and my fellow travellers from that time, we experienced it when mother nature reigned and not Mr Moneybags. 🙂

I dislike winters, but I'd rather be in southern US or elsewhere in winter than here, humidity is much lower and you don't feel as cold even when it's in the lower 30s.
